Dodge has introduced the 2021 Challenger Mopar Drag Pak which is a turnkey drag racer.
Starting under the hood, the model has been equipped with the latest evolution of the company’s supercharged 5.8-liter V8 engine. It features an all-new 3.0-liter Whipple twin-screw supercharger, upgraded internals, a new accessory drive, and a new aluminum ice tank which cools the intercooler.
Dodge didn’t mention detailed specifications, but said the 2021 model is the “quickest, fastest and most powerful Drag Pak ever.” FCA’s Tim Kuniskis also referred to it as a “seven second turnkey race car.”

Elsewhere, there’s an all-new four-link rear suspension that features a new geometry with longer control arms that increase the length of the rear swing arm. Dodge says this allows for better anti-squat control and increased stability. The model also swaps the Panhard bar for a wishbone link, while adding a larger anti-roll bar that is 250 percent stiffer than its predecessor.
Other updates include Bilstein coilover shock absorbers which “improve weight transfer and body attitude for hard launches, as well as soak up track bumps and undulations at high speeds down the track.” They feature 10 settings and can be adjusted using color-coded knobs.
Moving into the cabin, there’s a new chromoly roll cage which increases stiffness and is NHRA-certified for 7.50-second ETs. The model also boasts a 7-inch Holley EFI digital dash, an individually numbered badge and a lightweight steering column with a quick-release steering wheel. Buyers will also find composite seats and HANS-ready cam-lock harnesses.
The 2021 Challenger Mopar Drag Pak comes standard in White Knuckle, but customers can get optional “high-impact” colors known as Hellraisin, Pitch Black, Smoke Show, TorRed and Frostbite. Buyers also can choose between Bogart or Weld Racing wheels which are wrapped in Mickey Thompson tires and backed up by Strange Engineering brakes. Speaking of stopping, the model also comes standard with a 10-foot (3 meter) parachute.
Production will be limited to 50 units for 2021 and customers can register to buy the car, starting today, by calling the Dodge//SRT Concierge at (800) 998-1110. However, reservations won’t open until September 9th and they’ll be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Those lucky enough to buy the car will need to shell out $143,485 and go pick it up from Watson Engineering in Brownstown, Michigan when production begins early next year.
