Maserati’s all-new MC20 supercar is giving us our first glimpse on the brand’s new design language.
Following the MC20’s global debut in Italy earlier this week, the company confirmed that the front fascia of the mid-engined supercar will serve as inspiration for future Maserati models.

“The face of the MC20, with the low-mounted grille and the headlights positioned much higher on the fascia, is our new design language,” Maserati’s design department boss Klaus Busse told Autoblog. Busse added that the look of the MC20 takes inspiration from models of the past, including the iconic Ferrari Enzo-based MC12 from 15 years ago.
A key commonality between future Maseratis will be identifiable LED daytime running lights, as well as prominent front grilles. Busse did not, however, state how the radical new design of the MC20’s rear end will inspire other Maseratis down the road.
It is not just the design that makes the MC20 exciting. Right behind the cabin is an all-new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 that features a dual injection system and an F1-inspired pre-chamber combustion system with twin spark plugs. This engine is good for 621 hp and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque and is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential. Maserati claims the MC20 can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 2.9 seconds and max out at over 202 mph (325 km/h).
