While most branches of the automotive industry were severely impacted by the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, there have been instances where certain networks continued to thrive.
One such example is McLaren’s North American dealership network, which sold 580 Certified Pre-Owned vehicles as of August 2020, marking an 11% increase in sales compared to the same period in 2019. The program is said to offer “supercar ownership at sportscar pricing.”
These numbers were comprised of 50 vehicles sold through three Canadian dealerships, and a further 530 sold through the carmaker’s U.S. based dealership network that’s active in 25 locations throughout the nation.

All McLaren Certified Pre-Owned models feature a minimum one-year Certified Warranty that covers the cost of parts and labor for eligible repairs at McLaren retailers and service centers. The program also offers benefits such as 12-months roadside assistance and alternative onward travel should the car require further work or examination.
“Our mission is not only to build the best sports cars in the world, but also to offer the best ownership experience. McLaren Certified delivers that commitment on pre-owned McLaren cars from our retailers through the promise of quality and exclusivity with full factory support,” said McLaren North America boss, Tony Joseph.
As for supercar ownership being possible at sportscar pricing, McLaren would have us look at a 2012 MP4-12C model, with pre-owned pricing starting at $89,991. Other advertised models include the 570S, 650S, 675LT and more, although none of these newer models can be had for less than $133,000.
