The Lone Star state tuner has dropped a new video starring the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, which shows the ultra-fast muscle car in action.

Mind you, this is no stock Demon, but a heavily modified one that boasts Hennessey’s HPE1000 kit, which, despite the name, actually unleashes more than 1,000 horsepower.

According to the spec sheet, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 puts out 1,035 HP at 6,500 rpm and 948 lb-ft (1,285 Nm) of torque at 4,200 rpm, a healthy jump over the stock model’s 840 HP and 770 lb-ft (1,044 Nm), which rockets it to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.3 seconds, on a perfect day and with a skilled driver behind the wheel.

Verified by dyno testing, the extra oomph comes courtesy of several new and tweaked internals, such as the 4.5-liter supercharger, high-flow catalytic converters and supercharger bypass valve, upgraded high-flow fuel injectors, and a few other parts.

The tuner’s tuning kit for the Demon, which is offered with a 1-year/12,000-mile (19,312-km) warranty, includes the ‘HPE1000’ and ‘Hennessey’ badging, as well as serial numbered plaques and premium floor mats with the company’s branding.

Should one wish to smoke not only supercars, but even a number of hypercars with their Demon, then they could choose the HPE1400 kit from Hennessey, which includes a twin-turbocharger upgrade and other components, for a total output of 1,400 HP and 1,192 lb-ft (1,616 Nm) produced at the crank, and 1,237 HP and 1,076 lb-ft (1,459 Nm) at the wheels, with race fuel in the tank.

As exciting as it may be to drive a 1,400 HP, twin-turbo Demon, we’d rather hear the supercharger whine, like in the latest clip that made its way online.
