Koenigsegg continues to put the final touches to the Jesko before production begins towards the end of 2020 and while the car has been many years in the making, it’s been well worth the wait.
A new video shared online by the Swedish automaker provides us with our best opportunity to hear the Jesko to date. Not only does it sound amazing but it sounds unlike any other Koenigsegg before it.

Like the Koenigsegg Agera that it replaces, the Jesko is powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. However, the Jesko’s engine is vastly different than the Agera’s and features a flat-plane 180-degree crankshaft. This allows the engine to rev through to 8,500 rpm and creates a very unique sound. Whereas previous Koenigsegg models have emitted a deep and thunderous bellow under acceleration, this video reveals that the Jesko howls much like a naturally-aspirated V10 or V12 when revved through to the redline.
It’s not just the engine that makes the Jesko sound special. Mated to the V8 is the company’s advanced nine-speed multi-clutch transmission that fires off shifts at lightning speeds and also has the ability to smoothly skip through gears, allowing you to shift from seventh gear to third gear instantly, for example.
As with other Koenigsegg models, the Jesko has a flex-fuel system that allows it to run on normal high-octane petrol or be filled with E85. When running on E85, it pumps out an extraordinary 1,578 hp and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque.
