The Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) underpinning the Lynk & Co Zero Concept will be used by at least 16 all-new electric vehicles from Geely.
In a statement discussing the Zero Concept, Geely revealed that it will use the SEA platform for vehicles from nine brands, including itself, Volvo and production-ready Lynk & Co models. That’s not all, though, as Geely has shown the SEA to various OEMs from China, Europe, and the U.S. and, according to chairman Li Shufu, other automakers are keen to share the platform.
With the SEA platform, Geely is following in the footsteps of Volkswagen with its MEB modular electric-vehicle architecture that will be used by many EVs from the German group.

“Our development of this transformative electric vehicle architecture marks the biggest leap forward at Geely in more than a decade,” Shufu said. “This far-reaching innovation will greatly expand the volume and scalability of our zero-emission models, and we intend to offer the benefits of this innovation to other manufacturers – reflecting the common interests in our industry in addressing the challenges of climate change. Open-source architectures will be a hallmark of new mobility services, of which Geely Holding is proud to be the pioneer.”
The platform can accommodate from smaller A-segment vehicles to larger D and E-segment vehicles and will also spawn a variant developed for light commercial vehicles with different packaging offerings that include front-, rear- and all-wheel drive layouts.
Geely has spent the last three years developing the SEA platform at its research and development centers in China, Sweden, the UK and Germany.
