Earlier this month, a quick-thinking (and probably extremely lucky) motorcyclist in Philadelphia was saved from getting hit by the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado Regular Cab.

The dramatic dashcam footage shows a white Silverado sitting at an intersection in the outskirts of the city. The cammer, as well as an oncoming motorcyclist and a Toyota RAV4, both have green lights, but for some reason, the driver of the Silverado to the left starts to accelerate through a red light.

As the Chevrolet moves through the intersection, it passes directly into the path of the RAV4 and the motorcyclist. While the driver of the Toyota is able to brake to avoid T-boning the pickup, the rider of the motorcycle was forced to quickly countersteer to their left. Ultimately, the biker managed to avoid the Silverado by a few inches.

Had the biker decided to brake instead of countersteering, he would have probably slammed into the truck and could have been left with serious injuries – or worse, as he wasn’t wearing a helmet.

The cammer shared this footage to Reddit and says that immediately after the near-miss, the motorcyclist quickly turned around and chased after the truck. It’s unclear what happened next, but we wouldn’t blame the rider for being furious at the irresponsible and inattentive driver of the Silverado.
