Volkswagen has released full pricing and specifications for the ID.3 in the United Kingdom, just few weeks after deliveries of the First Edition started.

The most affordable electric compact hatchback from the German brand is the ID.3 Life. It starts at £29,990 ($38,987 at current exchange rates) on-the-road, including the £3,000* (equal to $3,900) plug-in car grant, and order books will open next week, with deliveries to begin before the end of October.

Offered with the standard Infotainment and Comfort packages, which bring the 10-inch touchscreen display with navigation, Bluetooth and DAB radio, and the electrically adjustable and folding side mirrors with projection light, auto-dimming rearview mirror and rain-sensing wipers, the Life also features other gear. These include 18-inch alloy wheels, keyless start, climate control, alarm, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Assist, Car2X, voice control, plus front and rear parking sensors.

Adding the Design and Assistance packages, on top of the Infotainment and Comfort, which feature LED matrix headlights, illuminated strip up front, LED taillights, rear privacy glass and 30-color ambient lighting, and keyless entry, illuminated door handles and rearview camera respectively, the ID.3 Business starts at £33,720 ($43,837).

The ID.3 Family will set buyers back at least £34,650 ($45,046) and is specified with the Plus versions of the Design and Comfort packages, and the Infotainment and Assistance packages. Compared to the Business, it features a large panoramic sunroof, two-zone climate control and variable boot floor.

The chicer-looking ID.3 Style starts at £34,180 ($44,435) and benefits from the Design Plus, Infotainment and Comfort packages, while the ID.3 Tech is a £36,190 ($47,048) affair and has the Plus versions of the Design, Infotainment and Assistance kits, and the Comfort bundle.

Priced at £38,220 ($49,687), the ID.3 Max is specified with the range-topping versions of the four packages and the Sport package, with sports suspension and progressive steering.

All models pack a 204 PS (201 HP / 150 kW) electric motor and the 58 kWh battery, save for the ID.3 Tour, which has a smaller 77 kWh battery for a 336-mile/541-km (WLTP combined) range, from £39,290 ($51,078).

More accessible variants, with less power and 45 kWh batteries, will launch next year.
