The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has been officially launched in the Middle East and has started to arrive in local dealerships.

A brief press release issued by Chevrolet in the Middle East confirms the local market will initially be limited to the Coupe, with the Convertible expected at a later date. It will also be available with the optional Z51 Performance Package, as well as the same 1LT, 2LT, and 3LT trim levels as those sold throughout North America, although pricing hasn’t yet been released.

Interesting, even though the Middle East model is a 2020MY it will be available in the same range of colors as the 2021 Corvette in the U.S., and this includes the new shades of Red Mist Tintcoat and Silver Flare that replaced the Long Beach Red and Blade Silver of the 2020 model. Local buyers will also be able to option out the Full-Length Dual Racing Stripe and Carbon Flash Racing Stripe packages.

“The mid-engine design not only unlocks enhanced levels of performance but also demands a complete redesign of the entire vehicle,” head of brand at Chevrolet Middle East Farah Amhaz said in a statement. “The powerful all-new LT2 V8 engine takes center stage as an integral part of the design, a tribute to the fastest and most powerful Corvette Stingray ever created. We are sure our regional customers will love the 2020 Corvette Stingray and we can’t wait to get them behind the wheel.”

Power is provided by a 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 that delivers 495 hp and 470 lb-ft (637 Nm) with the available performance exhaust system.
