The Jaguar E-Type is arguably one of the most beautiful cars ever made, and this example from ‘E-Type UK’ can proudly represent the Series 1.
It’s a 1961 model that was originally shipped to the New York dealership that same year, before it was bought by its first owner, who took it to Ohio shortly after. It is understood that it remained in the Midwest for over 45 years, and during that time it received its first restoration.

The classic Jag was then sold in Fort Lauderdale in 2015, with the Carmen Red finish and all original features, ending up in the possession of its third owner, Tomini Classics in Dubai, who proceeded to strip it down and apply the Opalescent Gunmetal paint finish, while also restoring the red leather interior. Power steering and a new aluminum radiator were also fitted.
After being taken care of for the second time, the E-Type was then sold to a collector from Denmark, who shipped it to the UK last fall. Eager to find out more about it, he dug up more details, and all are included with the sale.
Under the hood, the 3.8-liter straight-six is claimed to be in excellent condition having covered 60,200 miles (96,883 km). The vendor says that the car will offer its next owner “a perfect combination of classic performance paired with minor modern upgrades for a reliable driving experience”. But to do so, they will have to part ways with £215,000 ($278,955). We’ll let you be the judge if it’s worth it.
