The BMW Z8 is one of the most recognizable models that the German automaker has produced in the past two decades and a low-mileage example that’s for sale has just come across our desks.

This particular Z8 is a 2002 example and has been registered in New York since new and remained with its original owner until the recent acquisition by the selling dealer. It is currently located in Gaithersburg, Maryland, has only been driven 7,700 miles (12,391 km) and is being sold with a tool kit, the manufacturer’s literature, a Carfax report, and a clean New York title.

The Bring A Trailer listing states that just 524 examples of the Z8 were ever produced for the U.S. market in 2002. This example is finished in Titanium Silver with a matching hardtop but also has a black soft-top. The car had an “impact” with a deer in May 2014 but has been repaired and now looks as good as new.

Henrik Fisker penned the exterior of the Z8 and complementing the timeless bodywork are split-spoke 18-inch wheels mounted with Bridgestone Potenza RE040 tires.

As stunning as the outside of the car is, we think the interior is even more gorgeous thanks to Sport Red leather upholstery on the seats, dashboard, and door panels. The cabin also features some parts wrapped in black leather with gray trim and includes various brushed aluminum accents. It also includes heated and power-adjustable seats, and a six-disc CD changer.

Powering the Z8 is a 4.9-liter naturally-aspirated S62 V8 engine with individual throttle bodies, a double-row timing chain, and hollow camshafts, producing a cool 394 hp and 368 lb-ft (499 Nm) of torque when new.

At the time of publishing and with two more days left for the auction to end, the Z8 had a high bid of $128,000. That’s just shy of the new M8’s $133,000 and M8 Competition’s $146,000 starting prices.
