Not all GMC dealerships are going to sell the exciting new Hummer EV.
In fact, Buick GMC vice president Duncan Alfred revealed in a recent investor call that only half of GMC’s dealerships have agreed to sell the electric pickup truck.
As Muscle Cars and Trucks notes, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that not all GMC dealerships are willing to take the plunge in selling the Hummer EV, especially if they don’t have the customer base that will demand such a vehicle. In addition, dealerships that do want to sell it will need to make significant upgrades with the installation of charging systems and creating a unique customer experience. They will also need to invest in special tools and training.

While talking about the customer experience of the vehicle, Aldred confirmed the car manufacturer will adopt a haggle-free pricing model, meaning there will be no markups and no discounts.
“We have to reimagine what the customer experience is gonna look like… Our objective here is that the prices you see on the internet… the price you see is the price you’ll pay,” he said. “Secondly, we’re working with our dealer partners to construct a dealer margin in such a fashion that it is a ‘no-haggle’ price.”
The first variant of the Hummer EV to be sold will be the Edition 1, which is priced at $112,595. This model features a trio of electric motors delivering 1,000 hp and 11,500 lb-ft (15,592 Nm) and will hit the market in fall 2021. Other models in the works include the 3X, 2X, and the base model, priced at $99,995, $89,995, and $79,995 respectively.
