Among the many benefits awarded to Rolls-Royce buyers by the carmaker is the possibility to fully customize their car to their precise specification, both inside and out.

Take this Royal Blue Wraith for example, commissioned through Rolls-Royce Abu Dhabi. It wears the moniker ‘Inspired by Earth’ and it features a bespoke air-brushed artwork depicting the Middle East as seen from space.

The overall theme actually draws inspiration from the entire Solar System, with the hand-painted coachline featuring the Sun as well as the Planets (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune).

“We’re used to clients bringing us grand visions for their Bespoke Commissions, but this provided a new perspective altogether. In our response to the brief, we’ve worked at both the ‘macro’ level, referencing the Sun and planets of the whole Solar System, and the much more personal ‘micro’ level, centring our view of the world on the place the customer calls home,” said Lead Bespoke designer for Rolls-Royce, Michael Bryden.

The Royal Blue exterior paint is meant to represent 75% of the Earth’s surface, which is covered with water. The Middle East artwork is found on the hood, and is centered on the UAE – with the panorama extending across the Red Sea, Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman.

Inside, a focus was put on the Earth’s surface and its human inhabitants. The seats boast Moccasin leather to mimic the sands of the Emirates’ deserts, while Navy and Cobalto Blue accents reflect the rivers and lakes. Then there’s the Emerald Green piping, which is meant to symbolize nature, and white ‘RR’ monograms that hint at clouds and running water.

The rear waterfall is particularly spectacular, with clouds rendered in the embroidery using Photoflash technology. There’s also the Piano Milori veneer on the fascia, featuring a very realistic satellite image of the Middle East. As for the Starlight headliner, it’s been embroidered to show off all the planets of the Solar System.

Last but not least, there are custom treadplates, a clock with metal radial background, and inlays depicting the planets in silver, with the Earth accentuated in gold.
