Much like its parent company Nissan, Infiniti is in the midst of a restructuring process that aims to make it competitive in North America and China, its largest markets.

The company has given us clues of what to expect for the coming years in terms of its future lineup, and one can get a clear image of that by visiting the new Infiniti Lounge in Yokohama, Japan.

As a reminder, Infiniti moved its global headquarters from Hong Kong to Yokohama this year, and the brand’s new lounge is inside the Nissan Gallery at Nissan’s global headquarters, where Infiniti’s new HQ is also located. The Infiniti Lounge opened on October 28 for the general public with the main purpose of bringing luxury models to life for guests.

The first two exhibits are the QX60 Monograph and Q Inspiration design studies. The recently unveiled QX60 Monograph previews the next-generation QX60 production SUV that’s coming next year, while the Q Inspiration sedan concept showcases “an exciting direction for the brand”. Other vehicles will be displayed in the future, with the schedule of the rotating exhibit vehicles to be announced later.

The Infiniti Lounge design aesthetic was inspired by the automaker’s international auto show displays designed in conjunction with Kengo Kuma architects that offer visitors “a seamless blend of nature and technology”. With the opening of the new Infiniti Lounge, the Nissan Gallery can be enjoyed by a wider range of customers, including those from overseas.

The Nissan Gallery attracts approximately 1.25 million customers annually (numbers reflective of pre-COVID-19 pandemic). The space serves as a showcase of Nissan’s product and corporate information via test drives, exhibitions and various events.
