The teaser campaign for the 2022 Subaru BRZ is kicking into high gear as the company has announced the model will be unveiled on November 18th.
Besides confirming the debut date, Subaru released a new teaser image which shows the coupe’s front end.
While it’s only a partial shot, it reveals the 2022 BRZ will have new headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights. We can also see a sculpted hood and black accents near the air intake.

That isn’t much to go on, but previous spy photos have shown a large honeycomb mesh grille and vertical air intakes which are surround by black scoops. The car also has a rakish windscreen, an angular beltline and streamlined bodywork.
The rear end is more elegant as the model adopts a new trunk with an integrated spoiler. It resides above a dual exhaust system and slender taillights which are connected by a thin bar.
Performance specifications remain unconfirmed, but one report suggested the BRZ will have a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 217 hp (162 kW / 220 PS) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. That’s far from official, but it would be a modest improvement over the current 2.0-liter four-cylinder that develops up to 205 hp (153 kW / 208 PS) and 156 lb-ft (212 Nm) of torque.
As before, we can expect a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. There’s no word on gear counts at this point, but the manual will likely be a six-speed unit while the six-speed automatic could be replaced by something a bit more modern.
While a lot of questions remain, the BRZ will once again favor handling and lightness over big horsepower ratings.
