With a professional racing driver behind the wheel and Pirelli Trofeo R tires on its feet, the McLaren Senna has set an unofficial lap record for production cars at the Sachsenring.
The British supercar completed the German course in 1:25.19, one tenth of a second faster than a modified Porsche 911 GT2 RS and more than a second in front of the 911 GT3 RS, which completes the podium.

Further down, we can find the 918 Spyder, two modified cars, the 911 Turbo S and Chevy Corvette ZR1, and the Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro and GT R. The McLaren 720S did a 1:29.46, according to FastestLaps, and when the chequered flag dropped, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante posted an unofficial time of 1:29.49.
Besides the Sachsenring, the Senna holds other lap records at different circuits around the world. One such example is the Magny-Cours Club in central France, with 1:14.93, the Virginia International Raceway Grand Course, in the United States, where it did a 2.34.9, and The Grand Tour’s Eboladrome, with a time of 1:12.9.
With the twin turbocharged 4.0-liter V8, hooked up to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, pumping out 800 PS (789 HP / 588 kW) at 7,250 rpm and 800 Nm (590 lb-ft) of torque produced from 5,500 to 6,700 rpm, McLaren’s Ultimate Series model needs a stunning 2.8 seconds to sprint from nought to 100 km/h (0-62 mph). It does the 0 to 200 km/h (0-124 mph) in just 6.8 seconds, can run the quarter mile in 9.9 seconds and has a maximum speed of 335 km/h (208 mph).
