BMW Individual Shows Off Bespoke 745Le Created For A Boutique Hotel

With attention drawn to M Division’s cars, and especially the controversial new M3, one might be forgiven for forgetting BMW’s Individual division.

This doesn’t mean that it was being idle, as evidenced by one of their latest projects: a specially ordered 745Le xDrive.

Built to serve as the new chauffeur car for the Ellerman House boutique hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, this unique 745Le xDrive was designed in collaboration with South African artist and botanical sculptor Nic Bladen.

The artist is responsible for the unique design of the bespoke model’s interior trim strips, which feature replicas of plants cast in precious metal embedded in them. Bladen is known for creating detailed sculptures of leaves, flowers, roots and twigs using plaster casts and gold, silver, or platinum.

The motifs of the interior for this special 745Le were found in the Fynbos region around Cape Town, an area known for its unique biodiversity.

The rest of the interior features a Merino full leather upholstery in Tartufo/Cognac colors paired with many custom accents. The door panels, instrument cluster, Alcantara roof liner, floor trim, seat panels, the A and B pillars, as well as the leather-covered door sills, are finished in Tartufo.

The headrests come with comfort cushions that are embroidered with an exclusive floral design, while the center console, the center tunnel cover, and the switch panels are covered in Cognac leather. This BMW Individual creation also features electrically adjustable comfort seats with massage function, seat heating, and active seat ventilation, electrically operated sun blinds, the Sky Lounge panorama glass roof, Ambient Light, and the Ambient Air Package.

The exterior of the vehicle is finished in an exclusive Brass color and features the BMW Individual High Gloss Shadow Line, 20-inch M lightweight alloys in a bi-color finish, and the M sports package.

Under the bonnet lies a plug-in hybrid powertrain that combines a turbocharged six-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 388 HP (394 PS). The official EV range is between 51 to 54 km (31 to 33 miles), which means that the new luxury sedan can cover the 25 km-long drive from the Cape Town airport to the hotel with zero local emissions.
