The Kia Carnival Hi Limousine is one of the most intriguing MPVs released in recent memory and YouTuber Asian Petrolhead recently had the opportunity to check it out in person.

The new Kia Carnival, set to be sold in North America as the Sedona, represents a significant step up from the previous-generation model and in Korea, the Hi Limousine variant is the flagship.

Differentiating the Hi Limousine from other versions is the taller roof. From the outside, it looks rather odd but from the inside, adds an extra 291 mm (11.4-inches) of headroom. Is that extra headroom really needed? That remains a little unclear and will no doubt depend on the buyer.

In addition to its modified roof, the Carnival Hi Limousine has a pair of second-row captain’s chairs that can recline and include large footrests. During this clip, the YouTuber spends a bit of time in the second-row and points out some of the key features, including the large TV screen that has a HD-DMB TV signal, as well as HDMI and USB ports, including smart device mirroring.

Another intriguing feature found in the second row is a large cabin air purifier located on the back of the front passenger seat. This purifier keeps out ultra-fine dust particles and harmful gases. Second-row passengers also have access to heated and cooled cupholders, side curtains, and LED ambient mood lighting on the roof.

Powering the Kia is a Smartstream G3.5 GDI V6 petrol engine producing 290 hp and 262 lb-ft (355 Nm) of torque.
