Toyota teased the GR Supra Sport Top during SEMA360, and now the company is providing a look at how the one-off model was created.
The latest clip focuses on the removal of the roof and this was clearly a nerve-racking process. However, after plenty of planning and some careful prep work, the roof comes off in a matter of minutes.
The missing section will be replaced by a two-piece targa top, which can be removed and stored in the trunk. To compensate for the change, the Supra’s structure has been reinforced to maintain rigidity.
That isn’t the only modification as the video shows a stainless steel diffuser and a center-mounted dual exhaust system. It also sounds like the GR Supra Sport Top will have an upgraded powertrain, but nothing is official as of yet.

The second clip focuses on the TRD Sport Trailer, which is designed to be towed by the Overland-Ready Tacoma. However, this isn’t your typical trailer as it’s based on a Tacoma truck bed and is purpose-built for overlanding.
The truck bed has a storage box mounted up front, and it has pull-out drawers which house a generator, a cooler and off-road gear. The trailer has also been equipped with a hot water heater and a pull-out toilet seat. Last but not least, there’s a scissor lift on top of the bed that holds a four-person tent.
Toyota will unveil both concepts later this month, so stay tuned for full details.
