When it was launched, the BMW 1M was viewed as a bit of an oddity within BMW’s lineup. However, in the near-decade since hitting the market, the 1M has quickly morphed into one of the most desirable M models ever produced by the German brand and is in high demand among enthusiasts.
The 1M you’re looking at its currently located in Phoenix, Maryland and up for auction through Bring A Trailer. It looks relatively unassuming due to the subtle Alpine White paint scheme, but make no mistake: this thing is a real pocket rocket.

As the listing reveals, the white paint work is complemented by a set of silver 19-inch wheels wrapped in Hankook Ventus Evo2 tires that measure 245/35 at the front and 265/35 at the rear. The cabin features black Boston leather with orange contrast stitching and Alcantara accents across the dashboard, door panels, parking brake, shifter boot and instrument cluster.
While being the most performance-oriented variant of the 1-Series, the car also includes some nice amenities including power-adjustable and heated seats with memory function, navigation, automatic climate control, cruise control, Harman-Kardon audio, Comfort Access, and M-branded floor mats.
Slotted beneath the aggressive bodywork is a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter N54 inline-six that delivered 335 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque when new. This engine is coupled to a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential driving the rear wheels.
The car is being sold with factory literature alongside service records, two keys, a BMW car cover and a battery tender. Making it all the more desirable is the fact that it has only been driven for 14,000 miles (22,530 km).
