An absolutely bizarre crash in China left a vehicle pointing towards the sky after it slammed into a median.
This incident happened back in September last year but footage of it only recently started to gain traction on social media. It’s one of the (if not the) weirdest crashes you’ve ever seen.
Dashcam footage shows the white sedan merging towards a highway exit. However, for some reason, the driver ends up slamming directly into a crash barrier separating the three lanes of highway traffic from the exit. Ordinarily, you would expect such an impact to bring the car to a sudden stop. In this case, the force of the crash propelled the nose of the sedan upwards, ultimately leaving the car sitting vertically against a pole.

Video recently shared on Reddit shows the aftermath of the crash. The two female occupants can be seen looking at the car in bewilderment but fortunately, they appear to have escaped uninjured.
Crash barriers like this clearly shouldn’t trigger something like this; they should absorb the impact of the collision, not send that car upwards. One Redditor suggests that the barrels used in the barrier may have only been half-filled and that the bottom of the car effectively acted as a rigid sled, hence why it ended up in such a weird position. On the other hand, things could have gone even worse had the car flipped over onto its roof.
