Chevrolet is expanding availability for its Midnight, Sport and RS packages, all of which have proved to be very successful with SUV customers.
With that in mind, Midnight and Sport packs are now available on more than half of all Chevrolet models, where approximately 1 in every 5 Trax vehicles sold is either a Midnight or Sport variant. Furthermore, these specs are also offered on the 2021 Traverse.
“Customer choice is a competitive advantage for Chevrolet,” said Chevrolet marketing VP, Steve Majoros. “Special editions and unique trims allow us to offer customers the custom look they want straight from the factory. This helps us get more customers interested in our vehicles, which in turn can help Chevrolet grow sales volume, market share and revenue. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
Driven: The 2021 Chevrolet Suburban Diesel Is An Unlikely Green Machine
The 2021 Traverse Midnight Edition offers LS and LT variants an all-black vibe, starting with the Mosaic Black Metallic exterior paint, black ice grille, black-painted aluminum wheels, black bowtie and badging, as well as black roof rails. You can also get the Sport Edition Traverse, which adds black-painted aluminum wheels, black ice grille and black fog lamp bezels and tailgate applique. Other highlights include the black roof rails, Traverse badging and bowtie emblems.
Sticking with the Traverse, according to Chevy, nearly 60% of the people who buy this SUV select the Redline Package – in fact, Chevy SUVs made up nearly 85% of all Redlines sold in 2020. Furthermore, a Traverse Redline Edition owner is also more likely to own a Tahoe, Suburban or Silverado HD as well.
Moving on to the RS trim, this accounts for about one-third of the carmaker’s 2021 small and mid-size SUV sales. For example, 1/3 of all Blazers are RS models, with Chevy having sold more than 140,000 RS trims since 2018.
This popular trim is also available on the 2022 Equinox, adding a gloss black mesh grille, 19-inch Dark Android wheels, black bowtie emblems, black badging and nameplates, black roof rails, RS shift knob, plus the black interior upholstery with contrasting red stitching.
As for the Activ trim, it’s a little more underwhelming as 1 in 10 Trailblazer owners choose this specification.
