Osprey Custom Cars is ending the year in style by dropping the veil off their latest project, a 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 that has been brought back to life with a number of modern twists.

The biggest upgrade lies under the hood and it is a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V8 that produces 600 HP and 580 lb-ft (786 Nm) of torque, driving all four wheels through a six-speed automatic transmission.

The tuned Defender also features things such as a heavy-duty transfer case, heavy-duty front and rear axles, custom driveshafts, sturdy shock absorbers, springs and steering components, anti-sway bars and polyurethane suspension bushings. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes and there’s also extra sound deadening for a quieter drive.

Finished in Alaskan White with Stornoway Grey accents for the grille, hood and roof, it rides on 18-inch five-double spoke wheels with a two-tone look, wrapped in chunky off-road rubber. It boasts LED head- and taillights, rear privacy glass and a few other gizmos, though despite the numerous mods, there aren’t many things that give it away – at least until you open the door.

The cockpit has been reupholstered in black leather with double stitching, there are heated front sports seats with integrated headrests, an Alcantara headliner, aluminum HVAC knobs, piano black accents, a Puma-spec gauge cluster and cruise control. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and reversing camera, comes from Alpine, and if you don’t care about social distancing, then you can invite up to six friends, excluding the driver, to come along for the ride, as it also has two jump seats in the load area.
