The GR Yaris has turned out to be a success for Toyota, both in real life and in the digital realm, with the company apparently selling a few hundred thousand units in Gran Turismo Sport video game.
Quoting numbers released by Sony, Toyota claims it has sold 310,000 units of the B-segment potent hatchback in the popular PS4 racing game, reports GTPlanet. That number is even more impressive when you consider that the GR Yaris was launched in Gran Turismo Sport only last month.

Besides the rally-bred hot hatch, which is also available in the WRC 9 video game for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Microsoft Windows in Rally Concept spec, the Japanese automaker has also sold almost 1.8 million units of the 2019 and 2020 GR Supra in Gran Turismo Sport.
Based on a bespoke platform that combines the front end of the GA-B and the rear of the GA-C architectures, the GR Yaris boasts an all-wheel drive system and a new suspension set-up with double wishbones at the rear. It also sports ventilated brake discs all around, with four-piston calipers at the front and two-pot calipers at the rear.
