Posaidon has launched a new software upgrade for the Mercedes-AMG 45 range, which further improves their performane.
The plug-and-play device can be easily fitted at home, costs €1,499 ($1,840) in Germany and lifts the output and torque by 44 PS (43 HP / 32 kW) and 60 Nm (44 lb-ft) respectively.
As a result, the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine powering the A45, CLA 45 and GLA 45 produces 431 PS (425 HP / 317 kW) and 540 Nm (398 lb-ft), and 465 PS (458 HP / 342 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) in the meatier 45 S variants.

Top speed is still limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) in the 45 and 270 km/h (168 mph) in the 45 S, but the tuner also offers a modified CPC control unit which eliminates the limiter as an option. Pricing for the PowerBox plug-and-play device and the CPC unit is set at €2,999 ($3,682).
If anyone feels like the 45 S deserves a more impressive steroid shot, then they could opt for Posaidon’s RS 525 package. This upgrade, which includes a tweaked turbocharger and an optimized engine software, alongside the re-tuned control units for the eight-speed automatic transmission, unleashes 525 PS (518 HP / 386 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft), allowing the AMG A45 S to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds and reach a 324 km/h (201 mph) maximum speed.
That is half a second quicker than the stock A45 S, which starts at €62,683.25 ($76,959) in Germany. The non-S version of the hot hatch can be bought from €57,090.25 ($70,092), while the 306 PS (302 HP / 225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) A35 is available from €48,659.10 ($59,741).
