Lexus has released a new teaser image of a concept that will be unveiled this spring.

The company is keeping details under wraps, but said the concept “illustrates our intentions for the future” and will mark the “beginning of the next generation of Lexus.”

While that isn’t much to go on, the concept has a stylish rear end with sleek bodywork and slender taillights. We can also see a prominent shoulder line, a double bubble roof and a shark fin antenna that extends down the rear window.

Lexus teased the front end last year and it has slender headlights, a front splitter and a revised version of their spindle grille. The concept will also have an illuminated Lexus badge and a flowing hood.

Lexus hasn’t said much about the concept, but they have previously confirmed it will be an electric vehicle. It was originally announced alongside their DIRECT4 electric drive control system that will be used in upcoming hybrid and EVs.

In electric vehicles, the system will utilize front and rear electric motors. When it was announced, the company showcased a crossover prototype with two motors each producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and 221 lb-ft (300 Nm) of torque.

Besides teasing the concept, Lexus confirmed they’ll launch their first model under the company’s “new vision” later this year. It will be followed by additional vehicles next year and beyond.

While a lot of questions remain, we should learn more in the coming weeks as the first day of spring occurs in the Northern Hemisphere on March 20th.
