The Ram 1500 TRX hasn’t been on the market all that long and already, dealerships are slapping the potent pickup truck with some eye-watering premiums.

A Ram salesperson recently took to Reddit to reveal that his dealership had received 10 examples of the TRX and slapped each one with a $25,000 premium. Ram 1500 TRX Launch Edition models are even pricier, with a $50,000 markup.

Eager to see if other Ram dealerships across the United States are hitting the 1500 TRX with similarly high premiums, Jalopnik searched through CarGurus and Autotrader and found one particular dealer, Huntington Beach Ram, with four examples in its inventory, two of which are listed at $110,975, one has an asking price of $111,470, and a TRX Launch Edition has a price tag of $143,145. As a reminder, the pickup has a starting price of $70,095 while the Launch Edition starts at $92,405.

Jalopnik notes that the typical markup for Launch Edition models is about $50,000 while the premium of standard models sits between $10,000 and $20,000.

Thankfully, not all Ram dealerships in the U.S. are looking to make a quick buck off demand for the pickup. In fact, most of those currently listed for sale have price tags between $72,000 and $96,000, close to the MSRP. Even with the premiums, though, we’re sure most TRXs will quickly fly off dealership lots.

The big drawcard for the truck is its supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 pumping out 702 hp and 650 lb-ft (880 Nm) of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to a four-wheel drive system and launching the truck to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 4.5 seconds.
