The new Porsche 911 Turbo S has been getting a heap of hype since its launch but as this review from TheSmokingTire reveals, even the standard Turbo is a remarkable performance car, even in Cabriolet form.
Powering the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet is a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six churning out 572 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm), 32 hp and 29 lb-ft (40 Nm) more than the 991-generation 911 Turbo. Drive is sent to all four wheels courtesy of an eight-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Porsche says the car needs just 2.7 seconds to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) and that it will continue through to a top speed of 198 mph (320 km/h).

Both Matt Farah and his sidekick Zack are blown away by the car’s performance, commenting that it feels almost just as quick as the 911 Turbo S, a car that itself feels just as brisk as the much more powerful Ferrari F8 Tributo and F8 Spider. Farah also says that it feels as though the 911 Turbo Cabriolet has less chassis flex than the F8 Spider, high praise for a car with four seats and much better suited to long road trips than the Ferrari.
In addition to upgrading the 911 Turbo’s engine for the 992 generation, Porsche tweaked the chassis and offers two suspension options. The standard PASM suspension improves the balance between agility and ride comfort while the optional PASM Sport drops the ride height by 0.39-inches (10 mm) and improves handling, something both reviewers are particularly fond of.
