Before long, the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray will enter its third model year and for 2022, three new colors will be introduced.

Recent reports from Corvette Blogger claimed that Chevrolet will discontinue three colors, namely Sebring Orange, Shadow Gray and Zeus Bronze, for the 2022MY. Orders for 2021 models finished in Sebring Orange and Zeus Bronze will close after April 29, while those for Shadow Gray will close after May 27th.

Chevrolet will replace these colors with three new offerings. Information recently shared online by a Corvette dealer in Europe and posted by the MidEngineCorvetteForum reveals that the 2022MY Corvette will be offered in the new shades of Hypersonic Gray Metallic (code GA7), Caffeine Brown Metallic (G48), and Amplify Orange Tinitcoat (GC5). The dealer uses the new internal codes and names, but notes that the existing colors are being used in the pictures as the new ones are not yet available.

It doesn’t come as much of a surprise that the 2022 car is getting three new colors as the 2021 model was updated to include Red Mist Metallic and Silver Flare Metallic, replacing the Long Beach Red Metallic Tintcoat and Blade Silver Metallic of the 2020 car.

It remains to be seen what other alterations Chevrolet will make to the 2022 model, but it’s possible some subtle trim changes will be made in the interior. As for the future, a recent report suggested that the 2023 Corvette may benefit from an interior refresh that could see the deletion, or, more probably, redesign, of the car’s controversial buttress of buttons.
