Dashcam footage has captured the dramatic moment an airplane crashed into the side of a white Lexus after missing the runway. The incident occurred on a freeway overpass in California. Thankfully no one was injured.

The small plane made an emergency landing on Interstate 580 in Livermore, after experiencing technical issues after take-off. Shortly in to the flight, power to the Mooney M20E plane was lost, leaving the pilots with no choice but to glide until the eventual landing spot.

The video (explicit language warning) shows the Lexus — which appears to be an IS — just as it’s collected by the plane. The white sedan, which looks to have been in motion at the time, continues to push the plane a couple of feet, before stopping. Oddly, the trunk pops open in the process.

Speaking to KPIX, the pilot of the aircraft, Josh Redsun, said the plane reached about 500 feet before they knew they were in trouble. “I’m glad we’re all ok. Power was lost on take off.” said Redsun.

The plane was a single-engine four-seated craft that, according to the FAA, was registered to San Francisco resident Maciel Cicero.

No further info is known about the cause of the crash. The incident is currently being investigated by the FAA, who has also notified the NTSB. Right now, the plane has been taken back to the airport to determine further what caused the loss of power.

As for the innocent Lexus IS and its driver, who will be thankful that they’re unscathed, well, we hope that the coverage the incident has got is enough to justify the insurance claim of “plane t-boned car.”
