James Glickenhaus has shared new images of the forthcoming 008 Baja Dakar Buggy.
The niche automaker first dreamed up the idea of the vehicle 12 months ago and at the time, referred to the vehicle as the ‘Mini Boot,’ named after its Baja Boot off-roader. The vehicle combines the looks of the SCG 004 race car with the off-road credentials of the Baja Boot and over the last year, its design has progressed.

The front now features a prominent bash guard and has the same basic wheel arches and headlights as the 004. It also has LED daytime running lights and four large rally lights in the hood. The glasshouse of the 004 has also been replaced and the 008 features a large roll cage and black mesh instead of normal side windows. It also sits quite high off the pavement thanks to the jacked-up suspension and massive off-road tires.
There are some similarities at the rear of the Glickenhaus 008 Baja Dakar Buggy to the Baja Boot. For example, the 008 has two large tailpipes poking out from the rear compartment and two spare wheels and tires stacked at the back. Tying the design together is a roof scoop.
One particularly interesting aspect of the off-roader is the fact that it is a three-seater with a central driving position and two seats located behind the driver’s seat.
It remains to be seen which engines the 008 Baja Dakar Buggy will use, but if it gets the same V8 options as the Baja Boot, it could be quite a beast.
