Rivian will establish a large showroom in Brooklyn in a bid to promote interest in its all-electric R1T pickup and R1S SUV.
The showroom will, according to Bloomberg, be located in Williamsburg, close to the Williamsburg Bridge that connects to New York City’s Lower East Side, and will span more than 12,000 square feet (1,115 square meters). Confirmation of the showroom being established in Williamsburg comes shortly after the carmaker said it will also set up showrooms in Chicago, California, and other cities throughout the country.
As Rivian will operate a similar direct-to-consumer sales model as Tesla, the retail locations will be used primarily as a place where customers can check out the brand’s models before ordering them online.

Rivian chief executive RJ Scaringe has previously confirmed that the company will also establish 41 service locations in the United States while also operating a mobile service program.
Rivian’s first model to reach the hands of customers will be the R1T Launch Edition, priced from $75,000 before the $7,500 federal EV tax credit, and landing in June. The R1T will also be sold in Adventure and Explore variants, deliveries of which will commence in January 2022.
Deliveries of the Rivian R1S will start in August this year with the release of the Launch Edition model, priced from $77,500 before tax credits. It will sit at the top of the Rivian range and includes underbody protection, natural-grained ash wood interior surfaces, perforated vegan leather, heated and ventilated seats, and Chilewich floor mats. Rivian will also sell the R1S in Adventure and Explore guise. These models will also hit public roads in January 2022.
