The first production unit of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX changed hands at the end of last week, with its owner paying $410,000 at the Barret-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.

That kind of dough could have otherwise bought them a brand new Rolls-Royce Cullinan, two Porsche 911 Turbo S supercars, a couple of Mercedes-AMG G63s and over $80,000 to spare or almost six regular 2021 1500 TRX trucks, which are listed from $70,095 (MSRP).

If you read our previous coverage, then you know that it is the very first Launch Edition model to roll off the production line. VIN 001 is finished in Anvil Gray, has special red and brushed-aluminum center console badge, carbon fiber trim, head-up display, panoramic sunroof, premium Harman Kardon audio, and so on. It also features special exterior graphics, beadlock-capable wheels and several accessories from Mopar. The first production unit of the 1500 TRX is accompanied by a presentation box that includes a bound-book highlighting its development, exclusive photos and videos, speed-form model and cover.

“When Ram 1500 TRX VIN 001 rolled off the assembly line, it instantly became an incredibly exciting one-of-a-kind collectible truck that was reflected by the winning bid”, said the brand’s CEO, Mike Koval Jr. “More importantly, we’re thrilled that the first Ram 1500 TRX raised significant funds that will go directly to the United Way for Southeast Michigan’s 2-1-1 helpline to provide services to veterans and their families.”

With 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet (881 Nm) of torque produced by the supercharged 6.2-liter V8, it rockets to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 4.5 seconds, and up to a top speed of 118 mph (190 km/h).
