Comedian and actor Kevin Hart is apparently a fan of Corvettes because he just spent $825,000 on one at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction.
The 1959 C1 Corvette has been heavily modified to feature a 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine swap that makes 460 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque. It has been paired to a 4L75E automatic transmission.
The suspension has been thoroughly modified to keep up with the engine. It has an Art Morrison C7 independent front suspension with adjustable ride height and Strange coilovers. The brakes, too, have been modified for the car and it features 6-piston calipers at the front from a C7 Corvette.

And to make sure the handling feels just right, it has been modified to rack & pinion unit with power assistance.
As you might expect, as a result of all that modifying, this was a frame-off restoration. Indeed, the frame was powder coated in Cadillac Gray. The body, meanwhile, was stripped with glass beads before being finished in Franny Green and Global High Solids clear.
The painters didn’t stop there, though. The underside of the car was also repainted in black and finished with a ceramic coating. The convertible top, meanwhile, was restored and finished in a Chocolate Brown Stayfast material.
Inside, the Corvette features a JL Amplifier, Bluetooth connectivity, Dakota Digital gauges, and LED lighting throughout.
Since completing its thorough restoration, the Corvette has driven just 150 miles, though we sincerely hope that Hart can put a few more on it now.
