Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath has teased a hotter version of the Polestar 2 on social media.

Posted on Instagram, the images show a sportier model that features additional body color components. The car also appears to have a reduced ride height and unique wheels that are backed up by a high-performance braking system with gold calipers.

While little is known about the model, Ingenlath’s hashtags provide a couple of hints as they suggest the vehicle is a prototype that has been equipped with a revised suspension which uses Öhlins components. Ingenlath also tagged Akebono and Brembo, so the model likely has brakes from one of the companies.

Roadshow asked Polestar about the car and a spokesperson told them, “The design department is regularly playing with these types of ideas and stances, especially since Thomas is a huge product and design advocate.” Unfortunately, it appears there are no immediate plans to put such a vehicle into production.

That’s a bit disappointing, but the Polestar 2 is offered with a $5,000 Performance package which includes Öhlins dampers and 20-inch forged alloy wheels that are backed up by Brembo front brakes. The package also adds gold seat belts and high gloss black accents on the roof.

As a refresher, the model has two electric motor that produce a combined output of 402 hp (300 kW / 408 PS) and 487 lb-ft (660 Nm) of torque. They enable the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 4.7 seconds and have an EPA-estimated range of 233 miles.
