Mercedes-Benz dealerships are being offered financial incentives to sell AMG models in the U.S.

Since the start of the month, the German car manufacturer has been running a “retro program” with dealerships that allows them to earn $750 for each AMG model they sell beyond 100 per cent of their sales objective. As reported by Cars Direct, if they exceed 110 per cent of their sales objective, they will receive $1,500 for each additional AMG model sold.

Mercedes-AMG is gearing up to embark on an exciting new future with plug-in hybrid and all-electric vehicles. The company recently confirmed that it is working on a number of all-electric vehicles, the first of which will launch this year with performance on par with the brand’s most powerful 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 models, meaning the EV should hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in under 4.0 seconds and reach a 155 mph (250 km/h) top speed.

In addition to its EVs, Mercedes-AMG is working on a number of high-performance hybrids. With the exception of the F1-powered Project One, the company’s hybrid models will initially be topped out by a version of the AMG GT 4 Door with 804 hp and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. It has also been confirmed that the next-generation Mercedes-AMG C 63 will ditch the current model’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 in favor of a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid with almost 650 hp.
