David Brown Automotive has released more details of the Mini Remastered Oselli Edition, a high-performance limited-edition variant of the restomodded classic Mini that was first announced back in 2019.

The company is getting ready for the production of the new Oselli Edition model, which has been developed in collaboration with classic car performance specialist Oselli. The first customer examples expected out of the workshop by the end of April.

Under the bonnet, you’ll find an upgraded version of the A-Series engine, which has grown to 1,45 liters in capacity and is fed by twin SU carburetors, among other upgrades. It’s also paired with a five-speed gearbox. DBA is still keeping the output figures for itself but says it will reveal them soon.

DBA’s hottest Mini restomod also comes with upgraded suspension and braking, as well as wider 13-inch Enkei wheels shod in stickier tires to further sharpen the handling. Customers of the new Oselli Edition are able to spec their new restomod Minis in either two- or four-seat configurations, with the two-seater featuring bucket seats and a hand-wrapped roll cage in the rear.

“We are very pleased to have the first examples of Mini Remastered, Oselli Edition almost ready to hit the road – or the racetrack,” said Michelle Gay, Sales & Marketing Director at David Brown Automotive. “Alongside our engineering partner, Oselli, we are committed to making sure this performance version of Mini Remastered is the complete package, so alongside challenges around the pandemic, this model has been in planning for longer than usual, but only to allow us to perfect the ultimate race-ready city car package.”

DBA previously said that the Mini Remastered Oselli Edition will be produced in just 60 examples, with prices starting from a rather faint-inducing £98,000 (over $135k in today’s exchange rates).
