The Envision Plus won’t be the only new Buick introduced at the Shanghai Auto Show as the company will also unveil the Verano Pro on April 18th.
Confusingly claimed to be “all-new,” “completely redesigned” and also “refreshed,” the Verano Pro will be a new take on Buick’s midsize sedan.
The teaser images aren’t very revealing, but they show the car will have a stylish grille with a more prominent Buick emblem and a chrome bar that moves from the middle to the top. Speaking of the latter, the bar now flows into the headlights.

Further below, we can see a more aerodynamic front bumper with less aggressive air intakes. The model also features a small splitter and less chrome trim.
Out back, there are slender taillights and a more conventional trunk. The Verano GS also adopts a body color diffuser and a black rear spoiler.
Buick was coy on specifics, but said the Verano Pro rides on GM’s all-new global vehicle platform and will come equipped with an all-new intelligent propulsion system. The company also said buyers can expect a “roomy and comfortable cabin” as well as advanced safety features and a high-tech infotainment system.
While a lot of questions remain, the current Verano is offered with 1.0- and 1.3-liter turbo engines. The former produces 123 hp (92 kW / 125 PS) and 133 lb-ft (180 Nm) of torque, while the latter churns out 162 hp (122 kW / 165 PS) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm).
