Order books for the all-electric BMW i4 have just been opened in Australia prior to local deliveries kicking off in the first quarter of 2022.
To reserve an i4, shoppers simply need to place a $500 deposit and later in the year will have the opportunity to specify their vehicle with a dealership. While the order books are now open, BMW has yet to announce local pricing for the vehicle, but it will probably start somewhere north of AU$100,000, placing it right in line with the Tesla Model 3 Performance.

BMW took off the covers to the i4 in mid-March and as expected, it looks very similar to the concept while still having a familiar BMW look not too dissimilar from the car manufacturer’s ICE models.
While certain technical specifications about the i4 remain under wraps, we do know that the range will be topped out by a variant pumping out 523 hp, allowing it to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in approximately 4 seconds. A number of different battery packs will be offered, including one that enables the i4 to travel up to 366 miles (590 km) on the WLTP cycle.
The i4 isn’t the only all-electric BMW heading Down Under. The car manufacturer’s local arm recently confirmed that both the iX3 and iX will touch down on local shores before the end of the year and are sure to shake up the local EV market.
