Radio-controlled car specialist Traxxas has just unveiled its R/C version of the Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray and as with other products from the company, its Corvette is something to behold.
Underpinning the R/C car is the new 4-Tec 3.0 chassis from Traxxas that is longer and wider than its predecessor. The chassis also includes waterproof electronics, oil-filled shocks, sealed differentials and according to Traxxas, the enlarged footprint improves stability and refines handling. The car can hit a top speed of 30 mph (48 km/h). Drive is sent through all four wheels.

As impressive as the new chassis of the C8 Corvette R/C car is, it is perhaps the exterior that is the real highlight. Traxxas has managed to perfectly mimic the exterior of the real-life C8 while developing a body that is void of any visible clips. Instead, it uses an integrated quick-release system that secures the body to the chassis.
Traxxas has also gone to the trouble of recreating the engine bay of the Corvette and crafted a perfect scale model of the sports car’s 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine. The wheels of the R/C car also mimic the 19-inch shoes of the Corvette and buyers can also option out a light package that means the headlights and brake lights can function just like they do on the real car.
Three driver modes are offered with the car. Sport mode includes forward, brake, and reverse gears while Race mode is restricted to acceleration and braking. A ‘Training’ mode is also offered.
The C8 Corvette from Traxxas will start to hit stores in early May and is priced at $349.99.
