Chevrolet has revealed just how popular the Convertible variant of the C8 Corvette is.
During the recent National Corvette Museum’s Bash Event last week, Corvette product manager Harlan Charles said that the car manufacturer has so far secured 19,362 orders for the C8’s 2021 model year. With a few months still left to run for the 2021 model year, several thousand more are expected to be sold.

According to Corvette Blogger, of the 19,362 Corvettes that have been ordered for 2021, no less than 41 per cent of them have been Convertible models while the remaining 59 per cent are for the Coupe. This means that 7,938 Convertibles have been sold compared to 11,423 Coupes.
Interestingly, 52 per cent of those purchasing a C8 Corvette Convertible are opting for the flagship 3LT trim level while 40 per cent are opting for the 2LT and only 8 per cent are going with the entry-level 1LT. By comparison, 47 per cent of Coupe buyers are going for the mid-tier 2LT, following by 33 per cent for the 3LT and 20 per cent for the 1LT.
Corvette Blogger reports that there hasn’t been a time when the Corvette Convertible proved as popular since 1969 when 43 per cent of buyers opted for the Stingray Convertible while 57 per cent went for the T-Top Coupe. When the C7 Corvette was in production, the Convertible accounted for approximately 29 per cent of total sales.
Prices for the 2021 Corvette Convertible start at $68,495, making it $7,500 more expensive than the Coupe.
