An estate version of the DS 9 has been knocked off the table, as Citroen’s premium car brand isn’t interested in expanding the flagship model’s family with a second body style.

Technically, such a ride could exist, because it’s built around the EMP2 architecture that is used in a wide number of PSA vehicles, including the new-gen 508, which comes in a estate variant as well.

“There won’t be an estate version (of the DS 9)”, UK managing director, Jules Tilstone, told Autocar. “It’s an E-segment car, and though it sits on the extended EMP2 platform, it doesn’t sit in the segment where you would have an estate version”, the official added, probably forgetting about the estate versions of the Mercedes E-Class and Audi A6 to name but two.
