A matte black Lamborghini Urus has been destroyed by an apparent electric fire in Taiwan.
Local media reports that the Italian SUV caught fire on National Freeway 1 on April 27. It is claimed that the driver quickly pulled over after first noticing the flames and while a nearby tow-truck driver attempted to control the inferno with a fire extinguisher, their attempts were futile and before long, the Lamborghini was engulfed in flames.
Speaking with SENT News, the 29-year-old owner of the Urus said he had owned it for eight months and had no idea what triggered the blaze.
Taiwan News adds that following an initial investigation into the fire, the Changhua County Fire Department determined that the blaze was triggered by some sort of short circuit in the right rear of the SUV. This sparked a fire that quickly spread to the fuel tank.

A handful of images were snapped of the Lamborghini while the inferno quickly engulfed the SUV and by the time fire crews arrived on the scene, the Urus couldn’t be saved. When the fire was extinguished, all that was left was a burnt-out shell and the owner’s tears.
Making this particular Lamborghini Urus fire noteworthy is the fact that in Taiwan, the Urus starts at NT$9.99 million or roughly $360,000, well above the SUV’s starting price in the U.S. of around $220,000.
