What you’re looking at is a perfect example of a Porsche 964 Carrera RS in a true ‘brand-new’ condition that has barely been driven since it left the factory back in 1991.

The odometer shows just 164 km (102 miles), which makes it quite possibly the lowest-mileage 964 Carrera RS on the planet.

The specific example is a member of the “Leonard Collection”, which is currently auctioned at Collecting Cars. The top bid for the Guards Red Carrera RS is sitting at £202,100 (around $286k in current exchange rates) at the time of writing.

The car was originally delivered in Germany new and is accompanied by all the original literature, including the handbook, warranty, service book, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity. In addition, a full paint depth inspection was carried out in 2017 by Porsche Zentrum Münster, providing evidence that the Guards Red paint is completely original.

The interior is similarly presented in an “as-new” condition, featuring the standard fixed-back Recaro bucket seats trimmed in black leather with patches of Dark Grey, Pearl Grey, and Light Grey leather.

The car had its first service in August 2017, again at Porsche Zentrum Münster, including an engine oil and filter change, brake fluid, a new battery, and a new fuel pump.

The 911 Carrera RS is one of the most sought-after classic sports cars in today’s market, offering a much sharper driving experience than the base Carrera 2. In fact, Porsche went as far as giving it a seam-welded chassis, an aluminum bonnet, thinner glass, and magnesium Cup wheels to make it 286 lbs (130 kg) lighter than the entry-level 964.

Power comes from an upgraded 3.6-liter flat-six that features balanced internals and a lightweight flywheel. This engine makes 260 HP, 10 HP more than the standard Carrera, and is paired to a G50 five-speed manual transmission with shorter gear ratios and a limited-slip differential. At the time, Porsche claimed it would do the 0-60 mph sprint in 5.1 seconds, half a second quicker than the Carrera 2.

Prices for well-preserved 964 Carrera RS examples have been steadily climbing into the stratosphere and this virtually brand-new 1991 RS model is only going to set the price bar higher.
