FCA is still selling brand new Vipers four years after production officially ceased in 2017, but if you are interested in Dodge’s V10-powered sports car, why not take a look at a low-mileage second-gen example?
Made in 2002, this Viper is one of 545 RT/10 convertibles built for that year, out of which 178 were originally finished in Race Yellow. The paint and 18-inch polished aluminum five-spoke wheels are in “excellent condition” according to the auction house responsible for finding it a new home.

The driver-focused cockpit features black leather upholstery, air conditioning, power windows and a basic HVAC system, and looks just as good as when it left the showroom floor nearly two decades ago. The odometer displayed under 3,350 miles (5,390 km) at the time of cataloguing, which makes this Viper even more appealing.
All SR II RT/10s featured a 8.0-liter V10 engine, producing 415 HP in the first years of production and 450 HP towards the end of its life cycle. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the power unit is still competitive even by today’s standards, not to mention that it sounds awesome compared to some modern mills.
Now for the fun part: to place a bid for this 2002 Viper RT/10, you will have to attend the Amelia Island auction in Florida, on May 22. Offered at no reserve, the vehicle is advertised by RMSotheby’s, who estimates that it will fetch between $30,000 and $40,000. That kind of money would otherwise get you a new Ford Mustang GT, which is a bit more powerful but lacks the fun factor offered by the Viper.
