With the exception of some insane EVs like the Tesla Model S Plaid/Plaid+ and Lucid Air, the Mercedes-AMG GT 73e 4-Door is shaping up to be one of the fastest and most powerful sedans on the market.
While Mercedes-AMG is keeping some cards close to its chest regarding just how much performance the GT 73e 4-Door will provide, it recently confirmed that its future flagship high-performance hybrid models will feature a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter AMG Performance Hybrid that includes a rear-mounted electric motor with up to 201 hp and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque.

All up, certain hybrid AMG models will pump out as much as 805 hp and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) and we expect to see the GT 73e 4-Door hit the market with those insane figures. When combined with an all-wheel drive system, the sedan should be able to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than three seconds.
As the German car manufacturer readies the car for production, it recently took an almost undisguised prototype to the Nurburgring for testing. The sedan looks extremely fast around the treacherous circuit with the driver seen clipping the apexes perfectly and running the car out onto the curbs in the pursuit of maximum speed.
Last year, Mercedes-AMG lapped the Nurburgring in 7:27.800, making it the fastest luxury four-door to ever lap the circuit. However, thanks to almost 200 hp in addition grunt, the GT 73e has the potential to be even quicker and could eclipse the outright sedan lap record held by a Jaguar XE Project 8 at 7:18.361.
