BMW is going to debut the new electric iX and i4 Gran Coupe models in North America on June 1 during a special event in Los Angeles, ahead of an official market launch in early 2022.
The new electric BMW models will celebrate their North American debuts at the specially prepared “[SPACE] by BMW” which is described as a “new immersive BMW brand experience” located at The Grove in LA.

The [SPACE] by BMW will be open to the public from June 4 through November 30, on a daily basis. The gallery-inspired venue will feature display vehicles from BMW, BMW M, BMW i, MINI, and BMW Motorrad.
“We wanted to do something special to introduce these new vehicles, which is why we’ve created a brand platform in one of the most important electric vehicle markets in the world,” said Uwe Dreher, vice president of marketing, BMW of North America. “But [SPACE] by BMW will go beyond just vehicle debuts and displays. We will have a full schedule of programming and events which will create opportunities to engage and connect with consumers.”
The new BMW iX will arrive in the US market featuring a dual-motor setup with a combined output of around 500 horsepower. BMW estimates that the driving range will be 300 miles (483 km) on a full charge, while 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) comes in under 5 seconds. The exact pricing and range details will be announced on June 1, which is also when pre-orders open, but it’s expected to be in the mid $80,000s.
The new i4 Gran Coupe, which will also become available for pre-order on June 1, will be available with different battery packs and configurations, offering a driving range of up to 300 miles estimated and a power output of up to 530 HP. The 0-62 mph sprint takes around 4 seconds.
Both new EVs will also be the first BMW models to feature the latest iDrive 8 vehicle interface that promises “a more natural interactive and holistic user experience”.
