Dahler has already modified a variety of BMW cars, and now, the German brand’s brashest SUV, the X7, has joined that list too.
For the Bavarian automaker’s flagship SUV, the Swiss tuner has developed a power upgrade, new exhaust system, sportier suspension and aftermarket wheels.
The twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine used in the M50i version of the X7 develops 530 PS (523 HP / 390 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. With help from Dahler, the numbers have increased to 630 PS (621 HP / 463 kW) and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) respectively. The tuner claims that a Stage 2 upgrade is in the works, and will be delivering 646 PS (637 HP / 475 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft).

The four-pipe mufflers have bi-flap control and the sound can be tweaked via the steering wheel buttons. Moreover, an electronic lowering module for the air suspension brings the whole body a few millimeters closer to the ground, improving the center of gravity and giving the vehicle a sportier stance. The wheels are 11×23-inch in size and can be wrapped in 295/35 tires on both axles, or 285/35 front and 325/30 rear rubber.
Dahler has other upgrades in store available for the X7, including a power boost for all other engines offered in Europe. The cabin can be refined with the individual speedometer that extends to 330 km/h (205 mph), highlighting the removal of the speed limiter that’s available for models built before July 2020, aluminum pedals and new floor mats.
As for the pictured example, it is the Dark Shadow Edition, which is limited to 500 units and features a few updates over the regular models.
