The SSC Tuatara lineup is expanding thanks to the unveiling of new Striker and Aggressor variants.
Starting with the Striker, the model draws inspiration from multirole strike fighter aircraft and has a “wide range of capabilities, both on and off the track.”
Compared to the standard Tuatara, downforce is increased three fold to approximately 1,100 lbs (499 kg) at 160 mph (257 km/m). This is achieved thanks to an extensive aerodynamics package which includes an active rear wing as well as a fixed wing with vertical stabilizers. The car also has a large front splitter, dive planes, aerodynamic side skirts and a protruding diffuser. Nearly 55% of the downforce is deployed to the rear axle and SSC says this ensures “optimized balance, predictability and exceptional confidence in stability.”

The unique styling continues in the cabin as SSC said the model will have exclusive characteristics. The company didn’t go into many specifics, but there will be Alcantara upholstery as well as an optional exposed carbon fiber dashboard.
Power comes from a twin-turbo 5.9-liter V8 engine that produces up to 1,750 hp (1,305 kW / 1,774 PS). It is connected to a robotized seven-speed manual which can shift in less than 100 milliseconds.
If that’s too tame, the Tuatara Aggressor is a track-only model that is described as a “formidable force to be reckoned with.” It builds on the Striker and offers customers “nearly limitless performance, appearance, and experience options not possible in the street legal versions of the Tuatara.” The model also has a track-focused interior with a carbon dash and roll structure as well as unique options such as racing seats and five-point harnesses.
The big news is an “upgrade option” for the twin-turbo V8. It increases the output up to 2,200 hp (1641 kW / 2231 PS), but the company didn’t say much else about it.
