The driver of what appears to be a BMW X1 has been arrested in Melbourne, Florida after leading police on a wild chase that included various detours through yards.
Local police officers claim that they first noticed the driver of the white X1 sitting behind the wheel drinking a bottle of liquor. Soon after, the officers saw the same man driving down the wrong side of the road and immediately began to follow, switching on their lights and sirens and initiating a chase.

The suspect immediately fled and dashcam footage from the police cruiser shows him speeding through residential streets at high speeds in an attempt to evade the authorities. Throughout the chase, the BMW driver made sharp turns off the road and crossed through the yards of various local residents.
The driver at one stage crossed through the front yard of a resident, slipped down the side of their property, and raced through their backyard. This probably wasn’t the best idea as it allowed the police to catch up and tail them closely. Eventually, the BMW driver worked his way back onto nearby streets but soon rolled the SUV after hitting a pole and driving down a small grass embankment.
KCCI reports that the man was arrested on the scene and admitted to police that he had been drinking and did not have a driver’s license. As reported by Fox35, authorities also found cocaine in his car. The 41-year old man was taken to the Brevard County jail.
